Moldova: life stories along the border

Moldova – stories of life along the Dnestr river / February 2023

The Dniester River is the natural border that divides Moldova from Ukraine and the ghost state of Transnistria. We crossed the security zones of Transnistria, returning along the borders of Ukraine to collect as many testimonies as possible, hence the story of an uncertain future with the specter of an enlargement of the Russian / Ukrainian conflict.

Make Europe no border / Idomeni 2016

“We don’t have enough food. We have no other clothes. We can’t look after our hygiene,” said J, a 26 year-old Syrian stuck on the Greece-Macedonian border in Idomeni for 10 days. As European borders go up, refugees and migrants are being left stranded and desperate.“There is no safe way to continue our journey. Theborder is almost closed for us fleeing war,” said J. “I feel hopeless. I just want to live normally again.” In February, Austria said it would only accept a handful of asylum seekers and refugees a day, setting off a domino effect of borders being closed to the vast majority of those people fleeing war and poverty from the Middle East, Asia and Africa. On 9 March, Slovenia and neighbouring Croatia refused to allow the transit of most refugees through their territory. Serbia and Macedonia say they will do the same.

A choice for the nature

Here, in this unknown place, small communities of breeders live and continue a centuries-old tradition. A photographic work in search of the well-being of nature, respect and its sustainability. Valchiusella Valley / Northern Italy – Show my portfolio publication in LFI

Blue the color of Adriatic tales

3pm departure from the Porto Canale in Cesenatico, one phone call and it all begins. Simone-Rachid-Chicco-Andrea and Matteo, these are just some of the names that have accompanied me on the discovery of this world and this hard work, with that charm inclined towards adventure, that side of mysticism that the sea has always offered at the first light of dawn.

Pubblicazione su L’Espresso maggio 2020

L’emergenza sta finendo, tornano i problemi quotidiani.
